Womens shoes
Gone are the days when womens shoes were just to protect their feet. Today womens shoes are expected to match their mood, be comfortable, suit the occasion … a long list of expectations!
Womens shoes or sandals may have a sole made from rubber, leather, wood, suede or rope. Sandals are an open type of footwear, consisting of a sole held to the wearer’s foot by straps passing over the instep and around the ankle, a sandal leaves most of the foot exposed. Sandals are preferred in warm weather. Womens shoes are available in almost all colors, sizes and with many designs as are mens shoes. Some designer shoes cost thousands of dollars. To meet the list of expectations, a large variety of footwear is available for women. Most of the general variety is mentioned here with a brief description.
Types of Shoes
Womens shoes or sandals with high heels (heels more than 2 inches) are considered to have sex appeal. Some women who feel they are short prefer high heels most of the time. Comfortable high heels are the preferred footwear of the office and any social events. Heels less than 2 inches are called kitten heels these shoes are definitely for those who have graduated, as far as shoes go at least, from kids shoes.
Some women like athletic shoes such as dc shoes or some other sneaker pump. Women’s shoes that are backless – no fitting around the heel are known as mules. Sling backs are womens shoes with a strap behind the heel. Ballerina’s ballet pumps or skimmers are also women’s shoes with a very low heel and short vamp, exposing much of the instep. They are preferred in warm-weather. Womens shoes with very thick soles and heels are known as platforms. Many women also enjoy wearing sports oriented new balance shoes or even shoes made out of wood which are known as clogs these are traditional footwear from Holland. Boots are long shoes (covering the ankle), made out of leather or cloth mostly preferred during cold weather or anytime as a fashion statement. Some special types of boots are rubber boots, snow boots and hiking boots. Slippers are casual and mostly worn at home for comfort and for the protection of feet. Shoes with a PVC sole are non slip.
How to buy a shoe
It is generally found that sometimes one foot can be bigger than the other, when buying a new pair of shoes, remember to try out both of the shoes. If your work keeps you on your toes, it is recommended to invest in very comfortable shoes with non-slip soles.
